“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world the master calls the butterfly.”

I was first introduced to Viola Davis as Aibileen Clark in The Help. Her performance made my body temperature rise. I was tempted to scream out in sorrow but, I let the tears roll down my face as I sat in a dark movie theatre. I’d read the book and story rang so true and ran so deep that every time I had a conversation with someone I had to tell them about the book I’d just read. Viola Davis brought this character past life, Aibileen was human she was the past, the present and the future. While watching her I felt like I had gone back in time, I felt all those emotions that came through her performance.

And How To Get Away With Murder is my show! It’s fast, it goes back, it goes forward, if you blink you’ll miss a key point. The writers come thru with these plots too. And once again Viola Davis executes Annalise Keaton’s character like the boss she is. Strong yet vulnerable, intelligent, quick thinking sociopath, sexual and can crumble at any time. The fact that she is many different things, multi-dimensional allows me to breathe a sigh of relief. It me and many other women know that a diverse woman is represented in Prime Time television. And every week and I am on the edge of my seat trying to breathe while watching this brilliant shows with Viola Davis as the captain of the ship.

I have not yet seen Fence but it’s a no-brainer. It’s a movie my eyes need to see and my heart needs to feel. I am so deeply proud of Viola Davis and ALL the work that she’s done. She is magician in cinema and maven of the small screen.

Congratulations to you Ms. Viola Davis!
